Forgotten things, looked upon as flexing strong,
brackets, counter-weights, pendulum swing,
and all along, I am weak without a friend to hold; I am arms.

Raised in a V, soaking up what's gone;
breathing deep to expand my lungs,
body chills I can wrap, long and around; I am arms.

Holder of hands, to push and pull away,
I'm scared I'll never be enough,
welcoming a try to find a fit; I am arms.

Toe to toe, grasped in hand, eyes closed,
I reach around like a coat to comfort, secure,
before holding you close and letting you go; I am arms.

What's funner than fun? Why, it's building a man on the run!
Frankenstein, to be exact...or Frankenette, perhaps.

Take a look at the ones that got it all started:
I Am A Foot Socks, powerlines, scrubby bushes in my line of view
Metal buildings, metal skies, metal plates in my head
Incandescant tubelights shifting shadowhand animals
Smiling blacklight strobedance in my psychedelic robe
I beam dollfaces onto porcelain, I am a foot

The doll army is crossing the hallow in fancy fabric dress
No ocean can keep them from lifting my bones up
Socket puppets, beware, this is the real thing, this is now
Yesterday dropped off of the edge of the flatroof, gone
Tomorrow is an egg, waiting to be broken, I am a foot

Laundryday breakaway, glean, gleam, moonbeam
Reams of dreams rolled out in the desert with pot pie
I Am a Hand Student armies crawl Seattle in "We're the 99 percent" T-shirts
No panhandlers, no uniform, can keep my bones from aching
Marionettes, take care: this is not your place, not now
Tomorrow drips from a hot tin roof, exhausted and waiting
Today is a fried egg, broken; I am a hand

Armwarmers, telephone lines; a shattered visage in my view
Concrete sidewalks, concrete skyline, less-than-concrete dreams
Burnt-out streetlight throwing shadows on a building wall
Tear gas brickbats flow across my TV plasma screen
I knit silk boxers into doilies; I am a hand

Garbage truck castaways, hopes of a dawn long gone
Thoughts in chalk, city sidew

I Am Eyes I am eyes, that unholy duality.
There are six deer in the dead field
who have survived late fall,
with its plague of men and guns.

I am eyes, turned to the pregnant sky.
There are pockets for hands,
thick wool for feet,
but eyes take the cold head-on.

There is clamor far away. There is cackle and bray.
There is grumble and wine, there is raw meet.
Handed over like suspicion, taken like greed,
like gold from the cocoa-skinned hide-hidden
lesser gods, there disappears my world.
But I know nothing of this. I am sleepy.
I am eyes.
I am knees I wait around, for a bend in the lacking.
The gravel is my nearest friend, catching
and waiting with me; I am knees.

Feet attempt to take away unheld hands.
I can not look myself in the eyes; shame
is a broken mirror. Shards of afterthought
find a home in me. I am knees.

I am always falling, in wander of the feeling
of being caught by not a friend. Yet,
it is always the gravel waiting; I am knees.

And you,
you are gone.

i am an ass here, place the burden of household malfeasance.
heard, the distaff discord, the injustice ignored.
hers, take prescription, sedation - his celebration.
beer, nice, a keg should suffice.  Bud kept on ice.
cheers! a Sunday of football devotion. i am an ass.

fare, requested, for pizza delivered.  none give their
share. invited, ten guys too many, i guess and confess.
where, i don't know, a pair came from - prison tattooed.
there, Ralph lived up to his name, on the floor.  there's more.
a chair - i sat, in injured interior pique.  i am an ass!

the game was a rout. sadly i wallow
I am a Heart a dichotomy of existence.
fragile and yet power filled;
breath fueling while stimulating life
defined by more than physiology, beyond biology.

life and death dividing,
pierce me with metal or word, and I bleed.
the ultimate unseen witness to each thought and every action.
broken, still healing in fused pieces the world leaves behind.
I am a heart.

worn for the world to see,
I shine from behind a child's eyes,
cherish lovers with passion's kiss
and comfortably wrap friendship with love.

I am more than a muscle, my numbered days unknown.
I take in all you see, that which you embrace,
and hold tomorrows aspirations safe in this dark mysteri

This is great. I first noticed this project on pyrrhite's page. I really want to try, but can't get into the mood to write. Had already started (2/3 through) a short story, but now I don't think I'll finish it. Anyhow, this is a cool project. I hope others will add more.

Thanks! I appreciate that.
After I saw everyone following =Bark's lead on the body part poems, I couldn't help myself; I wanted to play too! You should definitely join it. (:
